About Dynamic Gear Pairs
You do not need a Mechanism Dynamics license to create gear pairs. Dynamic properties of gear pairs can only be used in dynamic analysis when you have a Mechanism Dynamics license.
The presence of a dynamic gear pair in your mechanism can affect the results of an analysis in which mass is taken into account, such as a dynamic, a force balance, or a static analysis.
You can define gear manufacturing angles, for instance, pressure angles and helix angles, for all dynamic gear types. These angles affect the direction of the reaction loads between the gears as torque is passed from one gear to the other. You can also create measures that capture specific components of reaction loads in a dynamic gear pair.
The gear pairs in Mechanism Design and Mechanism Dynamics are available in Design Animation. You can create an animation displaying the relative velocity of the two gear bodies or disable the gear-pair connection during a portion of the animation.
