Convection Boundary Condition—Creo Ansys Simulation
A convection boundary condition simulates convection heating or cooling at selected reference surfaces in contact with a fluid. It overrides the default ambient temperature in the solution.
To Define a Convection Boundary Condition
1. After you create a new thermal simulation study, click Ansys Simulation > Convection. The Convection dialog box opens.
2. Specify a Name for the boundary condition or accept the default name. Optionally click the color swatch adjacent to the Name box to change the color of the icon, the distribution, and the text displayed for the boundary condition.
3. Select a surface to which you want to apply the boundary condition. Your selection appears in the References collector.
4. Type a non-negative real value, or a parameter or mathematical expression that evaluates to a non-negative real number for the Convection Coefficient.
5. For Ambient Temperature, specify the temperature of the surrounding fluid. The default value of ambient temperature is 20 C. Select units for ambient temperature from the list, or accept the default units.
6. Click OK to create the boundary condition and save it.
