Configuration Options—Creo Ansys Simulation
Configuration Options
Configuration options control the default behavior of some aspects of the software. You can modify the configuration options for a particular session and save the options to a config.pro file that can be reused for other sessions. The following configuration options govern some of the settings for Creo Ansys Simulation:
• creo_ansys_solver_cores—-Sets the number of processor cores to be used by the Creo Ansys Simulation solver. The value of this option can be between 1 and 4. The default value is 2.
• creo_ansys_solver_type—Selects the default
Creo Ansys Simulationtype of solver to be used.
• creo_ansys_n-r_method—Specifies
options for the Newton Raphson method of convergence.
• creo_ansys_contact_gap_behavior——Selects the
default behavior of the solver on detecting gaps or overlaps at contact interfaces.
• creo_ansys_normal_modes—Specifies the number of natural frequencies to solve for in a modal simulation study. The default value is 6. Specify an integer value.
• creo_ansys_all_results_visible—Controls the types of advanced results that are available. Has the following values:
◦ no—Default value. All advanced result types are not available on completion of a simulation run.
◦ yes—All advanced result types including strain and nodal load results are available on completion of a simulation run.
• creo_ansys_run_folder—Specifies the location to store the temporary solver data. The default run folder is $TMP\ where $TMP is the environment variable TMP for a user.
• creo_ansys_cache_folder—Specifies the location to store solver data when you save the model. The default location is $APPDATA\Creo\CreoAnsys where $APPDATA is the environment variable $APPDATA for a user
|
Solver and simulation data that is saved to the cache folder can grow to a very large size over a period of time. As the location $APPDATA is not cleared automatically either by the operating system or the software, it is a good practice to specify a location other than $APPDATA\Creo\CreoAnsys as the default location in which to store saved solver and model data and to clear it periodically.

• simulation_probes_auto_hide—Defines whether simulation probes defined for other simulation studies are hidden by default on activation of a study. By default only the probes defined for the active study are visible. This option has the following values:
◦ yes—Default value. Automatically hides the simulation probes of all other studies on activation of a study.
◦ no—Displays all probes of all studies.
