To route pipelines parametrically, you can reference existing assembly components. Piping offers flexibility by enabling you to route lines continuously or to join segments as the design intent develops.

To route a pipeline, you locate the centerline by referencing assembly geometry. You can also use specific fittings and equipment with entry ports as locating points. Entry ports enable you to specify the orientation of contact points in fittings, equipment, and connecting lines.

There is a Select Any command for routing reference. You do not have to specify port, pipe end, and so on, before you make a selection. The system figures it out for you and allows you to use Query Select if necessary.

Depending on the line shape (straight or flexible), you may employ different routing strategies.
