About the Geometry Pattern User Interface
The Geometry Pattern tab consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Select geometry to pattern and then click Model > Pattern > Geometry Pattern to open the Geometry Pattern tab.
Commands
Select one of the pattern types from the list. The options available are context sensitive to the type of pattern selected. The commands for each pattern type are similar to the commands on the Pattern tab, so only commands unique to the Geometry Pattern tab are described.
Attachment options
—Extends or trims the copied surfaces until they can attach to the same quilt or body.
—Creates the copies of surface sets as new quilts, and the copies of bodies as new bodies.
—Fills the volume inside the selected surface sets with solid geometry, adding to the same body. Does not remove existing geometry.
—Removes solid geometry from the volume inside the selected surface sets, in the same body. Does not add new geometry.
—Adds new geometry and removes existing geometry, depending on the relationship of the pattern members to the neighboring geometry, inside the selected surface sets, in the same body.

If the selected references includes a body, or surfaces from more than one body or quilt, then is the only attachment option available.
