About Patterning Bodies
When you pattern bodies, a Geometry Pattern is used. The following items apply to creating a pattern of bodies:
Access the Geometry Pattern tool by selecting bodies, and then performing any of these actions:
In the Model Tree or graphics window, click the bodies and select Geometry Pattern.
Select the bodies, and click Model > Pattern > Geometry Pattern.
When you pattern bodies, a new body is created for each source body. Each new body is associative with the geometry of the source body, but is not associative with the other properties of the source body.
If you omit some pattern members, the pattern instance index for the pattern members that are included remains the same.
Copy, Mirroring, or Patterning a pattern of bodies creates the geometry in new bodies.
