To Create a Thicken Feature
1. Select a quilt or surface geometry to thicken.
2. Click Model > Thicken. The Thicken tab opens, and default preview geometry appears in the graphics window.
3. To define the type of geometry to create, click one of these commands:
Fill with solid material—Add a thin section of solid material.
Remove material—Remove a thin section of material.
4. To define the feature thickness, perform one of these actions:
Type a value for Offset value.
Drag the thickness handle in the graphics window.
5. To define which side of the quilt or surface geometry to thicken, click to switch between one side, symmetric about both sides, or the other side.
6. Click the Body Options tab, and then select the body to which to add geometry, or from which to remove geometry:
When Fill with solid material is selected, under Add geometry to body, perform one of these actions:
To add geometry to an existing body, click the body collector, and then select the body to which geometry is added.
To create the feature in a new body, select the Create new body check box. The name of the new body appears in the body collector.
When Remove material is selected, under Cut geometry from body, perform one of these actions:
To cut geometry from all the bodies that the feature passes through, select All.
To cut geometry from selected bodies:
1. Select Selected.
2. Click the body collector, and then select bodies from which to cut geometry.
7. Click OK.
