About the Move User Interface
The Move tab consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Model > Copy and then Model > Paste Special to open the Move tab.
Commands
Translate—Switches the Move tool from the Rotate mode to the Translate mode.
Rotate—Switches the Move tool from Translate mode to Rotate mode.
Direction reference collector—Displays the direction reference at any time during creation or redefinition. You can select the x-, y-, or z-axis of the datum coordinate system in the graphics window to specify the direction of translation or rotation. The Direction reference collector shows which of the axes is used.
For a feature created in an earlier release of Pro/ENGINEER that uses a coordinate system as the reference direction, the Direction reference collector shows the used axis of that coordinate system.
For a legacy feature that uses two datum points or vertices as the direction reference, if you remove one of the datum points or vertices, both the datum points or vertices are removed, and the Direction reference collector is cleared. If you choose to retain the datum points or vertices, the Direction reference collector shows both the datum points or vertices as the direction references.
Value box—Specifies the move value. In Translate mode the value represents the distance to translate the moved feature. In Rotate mode, the value represents the angle in degrees to rotate the moved feature about the move reference.
Tabs
References
This tab is available in Geometry mode.
Move items collector—Displays geometry to move.
Transformations
Transformation list—Displays a list of translations and rotations in the Move feature. When a transformation is selected, its associated type, dimension, and reference are displayed.
Settings list—Switches between Translate and Rotate modes.
Value box—Specifies the move value. In Translate mode the value represents the distance to translate the moved feature. In Rotate mode, the value represents the angle in degrees to rotate the moved feature about the move reference.
Direction Reference—Displays the direction reference for the transformation.
Options
This tab is available in Geometry mode.
Copy original geometry—Creates a copy of the original geometry to move, and keeps the original geometry.
When you copy bodies in a part, a new body is created for each source body. Each new body is associative with the geometry of the source body, but is not associative with the other properties of the source body.
Hide original geometry—Shows only the new moved geometry after the feature is completed, and hides the original geometry.
Properties
Name box—Sets a name for a feature.
—Displays detailed component information in a browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access shortcut menu commands:
Move Items—Activates the Move items collector and specifies the selection of one or more items as references to move or rotate. Available in Geometry mode.
Direction Reference—Activates the Direction Reference collector and specifies the direction reference that is an edge, curve, surface, plane, axis, or axis of a datum coordinate system. Available in Geometry mode.
Clear—Clears the active collector.
Move—Switches the Move tool to Translation mode. Translates the move item perpendicular or parallel to the direction reference.
Rotate—Switches the Move tool to Rotation mode. Rotates the move item about the direction reference.
New Move—Applies another translation or rotation move to the move item.
