Reordering Features
You can move features forward or backward in the Model Tree, changing their order for regeneration. Use the Reorder command to select a feature or features to reorder. The insertion point can be before or after the selected feature. If specific dependent child or parent features must be reordered to complete the operation, these dependent features are automatically reordered together with the selected features.
Several special situations need consideration in reordering features:
Multiple features
You can reorder multiple features in one operation.
Group and pattern features
You can reorder features into and out of groups.
If the insertion point is a group header or a pattern header and you reorder the selected feature after the insertion point, then the selected feature is reordered after the entire group or pattern.
If the insertion point is the first member of a group and you reorder the selected feature before the insertion point, then the selected feature is added to the group and becomes the first group member.
If you select a pattern member to reorder, then all them members of the pattern are selected to be reordered.
Resultant embedded and unembedded features
You can reorder embedded datums under a single main feature as long as there is no conflicting parent child relationship between the datums.
A datum feature could become embedded if you reorder it after an embedded insertion point.
An embedded datum feature could become unembedded if you reorder it before a stand-alone insertion point.
Parent and child features:
Parents cannot be moved so their regeneration occurs after the regeneration of their children.
Children cannot be moved so their regeneration occurs before the regeneration of their parents.
