About Toroidal Bends
The toroidal bend feature bends bodies, nonsolid surfaces, or datum curves into toroidal (revolved) shapes. For example, you could use a toroidal bend to create a tire from flat geometry, or to wrap a logo around revolved geometry like a bottle.
The toroidal bend feature applies two bend transformations at the same time. The first bend is defined by a sketched section of the cross-sectional curvature of the toroid shape. The second bend is circular, and is defined by one of the methods of bending the geometry into a toroid:
Bend radius value
Axis to bend around
360-degree bend

These items are mandatory:
Profile section—Internal sketch or external reference sketch that defines the cross section of the revolved geometry.
Geometry to bend—One body, any number of quilts, or a combination of one body and quilts.
Bending method, each has different requirements:
Bend radius—Radius that defines the distance between the origin of the section’s geometry coordinate system and the bend axis.
Bend axis—Axis around which to bend the geometry.
360-degree bend—Two planes, one at each end of the geometry to bend.
These items are optional:
Normals Reference Section—Defines the post-bending direction of the surfaces that are normal to the neutral plane. All surfaces that are normal to the neutral plane in the flat state become normal to the profile surface after bending. This can be problematic if the profile section has areas of high curvature or is nontangent. Surfaces normal to the neutral plane in the flat state can have bad geometry after bending, or cannot be bent because the bending transformation generates overlapping geometry, such as a sharp truck-tire edge. You can apply the Normals Reference Section option to set these surfaces to become normal to the referenced surface, instead of becoming normal to the profile surface.
Curve Bend options—Defines the algorithm that is used to bend curves. By default it is set to Standard, but you can change it.
