About Local Groups
Local groups differ in the following ways from the groups defined from UDFs:
You cannot replace local groups.
When you create a local group, you do not give placement references. Local groups provide the only way to collect several features to pattern in one operation as if they were a single feature.
When you create a local group, you must select the features in the consecutive sequential order of the regeneration list. A quick way to do this is to select the intended group by range.
If there are features between the specified features in the regeneration list, you are prompted to group all the features in between. If you do not want to group some of the features within the sequential order, first reorder the features.
For example, you can select features 2, 3, and 4, but you cannot select features 2, 3, and 17. In this case, reorder feature 17 to feature 4.
