About the Attach User Interface
The Attach tab consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Flexible Modeling > Attach to open the Attach tab.
Commands
Quilt to trim/extend collector—Displays the open quilt to first trim or extend and then attach to a quilt or solid geometry.
Attachment options:
—Adds material by filling the volume bounded by the quilt with solid material.
—Removes material from the inside or the outside of the quilt.
—Attaches the quilt to the model geometry the same way that it was attached previously by using the attachment information stored in the intent objects. Adds material by filling the volume defined by the quilt, removes material, and optionally recreates rounds and chamfers the same as previously. Available when the quilt contains intent objects that store attachment information.
—Changes the side of the open quilt from which to remove material or to which to add material.
Tabs
References
Quilt to trim/extend collector—Displays an open quilt to first trim or extend and then attach to a solid or quilt.
Quilt to merge to collector—Displays a quilt to first trim by or extend up to, and then attach to. If this collector is empty, then the quilt to trim/extend attaches to the body that is selected on the Body Options tab.
Options
Trim/Extend and do not attach check box—Trims or extends the open quilt, without attaching to solid geometry or a quilt. Not available when the attachment option is .
Create rounds/chamfers—Recreates rounds and chamfers that attach the open quilt to the model geometry that are the same as the corresponding rounds and chamfers in the source geometry. Available when the attachment option is and the quilt contains stored attachment information.
Bounding edges collector—Displays edges that act as boundaries for geometry. Available when the attachment option is or .
Details—Opens the Chain dialog box.
Find next possible solution
Previous—Finds the previous solution when there are multiple solutions.
Next—Highlights the next solution when there are multiple solutions.
Maintain solution topology check box—Fails regeneration when the model changes and the same solution type cannot be reconstructed.
Body Options
Available for solid geometry (the Quilt to merge to collector is empty).
Add geometry to body—Displayed when geometry is added ( is selected).
Create new body check box—Creates the feature in a new body.
Body collector
Selects the body to which geometry is added when you add the feature to an existing body. The default body is displayed, unless you select a different body.
Displays the name of the new body when you create the feature in a new body.
Cut geometry from body—Displayed when geometry is removed ( is selected).
All—Cuts geometry from all the bodies that the feature passes through.
Selected—Cuts geometry from the selected bodies. The default body is displayed, unless you select a different body or bodies.
Body collector—Selects the body from which geometry is removed.
Apply to body—Displayed when the selected quilt to trim or extend contains stored attachment properties ( is selected).
Body collector—Selects the body to which to add geometry or from which to remove geometry.
Properties—Displays the name of the feature. Click to display information in the browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access shortcut menu commands.
Quilt to trim/extend—Activates the Quilt to trim/extend collector to select an open quilt.
Quilt to merge to—Activates the Quilt to merge to collector to select a quilt or solid geometry to first trim by or extend up to and then attach to.
Bounding edges—Activates the Bounding edges collector.
Trim/Extend and do not attach—Trims or extends the open quilt, but prevents the open quilt from attaching to solid geometry or a quilt.
Maintain solution topology—Forces the model to reconstruct the same solution type when the model changes, and fails the feature if the same solution type cannot be reconstructed.
