About Material Setup
You must select a material before performing the mold analysis. Click Material Setup to select a plastic material from the Material Setup dialog box. The Material library lists polymers by type, producer, and grade name. When you select a material, its details display under the following tabs in Polymer properties:
• Physical properties—Displays the process conditions of the selected material.
• Mechanical properties—Displays the mechanical properties, including Poisson’s ratios, the elastic modulus, and the Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion (CLTE).
• Viscosity—Displays a graph of the viscosity versus shear rate.
• PVT—Displays a graph of the volume versus temperature at different pressure values.
If you cannot find a suitable material, edit the properties of an existing material. You can modify the process conditions, viscosity model, and PVT model using the Material Editor dialog box.
