To Use Engineering Tools to Create a Parting Surface
1. Perform one of the following operations:
◦ On the Mold tab, click 
Parting Surface. The Parting Surface tab opens. Use the tools in the Shapes and Surfacing groups to create the base quilt and one or more surface patches.
Parting Surface. The Parting Surface tab opens. Use the tools in the Shapes and Surfacing groups to create the base quilt and one or more surface patches.◦ On the Cast tab, use the tools in the Shapes and Parting Surface Design groups to create the base quilt and one or more surface patches.
2. Merge multiple surface patches into a single parting surface.
3. Fill any loops that lie on the parting surface.
4. Extend, trim, and offset the edges of the parting surface, as required.
