To Fill a Loop Using the Shut Off Command
1. Perform one of these actions:
In the Mold/Cast application in Part mode, click Shut Off .
In a mold assembly, click Mold > Parting Surface & Mold Volume > Shut Off.
In a cast assembly, click Cast > Shut Off.
When creating or redefining a parting surface, click Shut Off on the Parting Surface tab.
The Shut Off tab opens.
2. Select one or more solid surfaces, quilts, or intent surfaces as references for the loops. Alternatively, you can first select surface references and then activate the command.
3. Click References. The References tab opens.
4. Select loops to fill using one of these actions:
Activate the Include Loops collector and select individual loops.
Click the Close all internal loops check box to automatically fill all loops.
To specify individual loops to exclude from the shut off operation, activate the Exclude Loops collector and select the loops.
5. To cap an open loop, perform the following operations:
a. Click References. The References tab opens. Select the chain of edges to cap.
b. Click Options. The Options tab opens. Select the surface of the bounding reference to cap the loop, or click Next to display alternate solutions in the graphics window.

The surface of the bounding reference must pass through the ends of the open loop.
