To Create a PTC Mathcad Prime Analysis
1. Click Analysis > Prime Analysis. The Prime Analysis dialog box opens.
2. To retrieve a previously saved analysis, click Saved Analyses and select the desired analysis. Click Retrieve to retrieve the selected analysis.
To load an existing PTC Mathcad Prime file, click Load File under File and select a file with a .mcdx extension from the Select Prime worksheet dialog box. To create a new PTC Mathcad Prime file, click New File.
*
If you have created a new file, saving the file will automatically load it into the current analysis feature. Click Reload File to reload the file associated with the current analysis feature.
After loading or creating the PTC Mathcad Prime file, define the analysis as required.
3. To add an empty row for mapping Creo Parametric dimensions or parameters to PTC Mathcad Prime input variables, click or right-click and click Add New on the shortcut menu under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime. To delete a newly created row, click or right-click and click Delete on the shortcut menu under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime.
4. Specify the dimensions or parameters of the model to be associated with the PTC Mathcad Prime input variables.
To add a dimension, right-click and click Select PTC Creo Parametric dimension in an empty row under the Creo Parametric column under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime and select a dimension from the model displayed in the Creo Parametric graphics window that you want to use in the analysis. The selected dimension, its current value and units are displayed in the PTC Creo Parametric to Prime table.
*
You can also select PTC Creo Parametric Dimension from the options menu under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime and click to add a new row and dimension.
To add a parameter, right-click and click Select PTC Creo Parametric parameter in an empty row under the Creo Parametric column under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime, select a parameter from the Parameter Selection dialog box, and click OK. The selected parameter, its current value and its units are displayed in the PTC Creo Parametric to Prime table.
*
You can also select PTC Creo Parametric Parameter from the options menu under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime and click to add a new row and parameter.
5. Specify the PTC Mathcad Prime input variables that need to be mapped to the added Creo Parametric dimensions or parameters.
Right-click and click Select Prime input in a row containing the Creo Parametric dimension or parameter under the Prime column under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime. The Input Selection dialog box opens. Select the desired variable from the list and click OK to continue, or click Refresh to refresh the list of displayed PTC Mathcad Prime input aliases. The alias name for the selected PTC Mathcad Prime variable and its units are displayed in the PTC Creo Parametric to Prime table.
*
Only the PTC Mathcad Prime variables in the math region that have been assigned as input appear in the Input Selection dialog box.
You can also select the desired PTC Mathcad Prime input variable directly from the math region in PTC Mathcad Prime.
Click Auto-map under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime to automatically map the PTC Mathcad Prime input variables and Creo Parametric dimensions and parameters having the same name.
Click Clear All under PTC Creo Parametric to Prime to clear all the rows containing the mappings.
6. To add an empty row for specifying the PTC Mathcad Prime output variables to compute, click or right-click and click Add New on the shortcut menu under Prime to PTC Creo Parametric. To delete a newly created row, click or right-click and click Delete on the shortcut menu under Prime to PTC Creo Parametric.
7. Right-click and click Select Prime output in an empty row under the Prime column under Prime to PTC Creo Parametric. The Outputs Selection dialog box opens. Select the desired variable from the list and click OK to continue, or click Refresh to refresh the list of displayed PTC Mathcad Prime output aliases.
The alias names of the selected PTC Mathcad Prime variables, their current values and their units are displayed in the Prime to PTC Creo Parametric table. The Creo Parametric parameter that will be generated for each computed PTC Mathcad Prime output variable and its default units are also displayed in the Prime to PTC Creo Parametric table. The default name of the Creo Parametric parameter is MC_PTC Mathcadaliasname, where ptc Mathcadaliasname is alias name of the PTC Mathcad Prime output variable. To modify the name, click on the name and enter a new name for the Creo Parametric parameter. To modify the units for the parameter, select another system of units from the drop-down list.
*
Only the PTC Mathcad Prime variables in the math region that have been assigned as output appear in the Outputs Selection dialog box.
You can also select Prime Variable from the options menu under Prime to PTC Creo Parametric and click to add a new row and PTC Mathcad Prime output variable.
You can also select the desired PTC Mathcad Prime output variable directly from the math region in PTC Mathcad Prime.
Click Clear All under Prime to PTC Creo Parametric to clear all the rows of the selected PTC Mathcad Prime outputs variables.
8. Specify the reference coordinate system with respect to which the datum points, the datum curve and the datum coordinate system are defined while creating the PTC Mathcad Prime analysis feature.
Click Use Default Csys to specify the default model coordinate system. Use Default Csys is selected by default. If you clear its selection, the box becomes available. Click to select a desired reference coordinate system.
9. Click Compute to run the analysis. The values displayed for the PTC Mathcad Prime output variables are updated with the newly computed values.
10. To view the results of the analysis in a separate Information window, click Info under Prime to PTC Creo Parametric.
11. To save the analysis, click Saved Analyses, enter its name, and click .
12. To save this analysis in an analysis feature, click Add Feature and enter a name for the feature. A new analysis feature appears on the Model Tree.
13. Click Close to quit PTC Mathcad Prime analysis.
