About Performing a Clearance and Creepage Analysis
You can perform a clearance analysis or creepage analysis or both for the following entities:
• Pairs of Nets—Ensure that you have performed following steps before performing the analysis:
◦ Created and loaded the clearance and creepage file.
◦ Created nets of conductive components in the assembly.
◦ Defined pairs of nets and the net pairs do not have any invalid nets.
• A Pair of quilts or components—Use the Clearance and Creepage dialog box to select any two components or two quilts and specify the threshold values of clearance and creepage.
You can use the Clearance and Creepage dialog box to perform following tasks:
• Create a clearance or creepage analysis or both.
• Save the clearance or creepage analysis or both.
• Select the type of violations to be reported.
• Retrieve and perform any analysis from the list of saved analyses. You can also delete a saved analysis.
• View the clearance or creepage paths in a saved analysis in the graphics window.
