Comparing Clearance and Creepage and Spark Analysis Extensions
Clearance and Creepage Extension (CCX) replaces the Spark Analysis Extension (SAX) application. The following table summarizes the features that are available in SAX and CCX:
Feature
SAX
CCX
Preparation
Using CTI parameter on part
Setting CTI parameter within CCX
Customizing CTI parameter
Excluding hidden components from analysis
Highlighting insulating parts
Highlighting conductive parts
Support for rotational variant components
Third-party .csv net file requirements
Setting voltage
Analysis
Support for nonhomogenous parts
Support for mm or inch units
Support for violating tolerances
Support for cementation of components
Results
Display of single failure path
Display of all failure paths
Storage of analysis results
Zoom to start and end of failure path
Isolation of parts affected by failure path
*
In CCX, you cannot perform an analysis on an individual surface. You can perform the clearance and creepage analysis on solid geometries and surfaces attached to the solid geometries.
