All patterns share the same icon (
) and have the same default name (Pattern #). The pattern class listed in the table is for reference only. All patterns have the following additional restrictions:

• External references, if any (e.g., reference feature) must be the same for all members.
Pattern Conditions
GD&T Advisor supports two conditions for patterns:
• Linked Pattern:
◦ All members of a CAD pattern are automatically added to a linked pattern.
◦ Pattern maintains an association with a CAD pattern.
◦ Updates automatically if you change the CAD pattern (e.g., change the number of instances).
◦ Individual members may not be added or deleted, except by modifying the associated CAD pattern.
◦ Indicated by a 
superimposed on the pattern icon (e.g.,

• Unlinked Pattern:
◦ A pattern of features that is not associated with a CAD pattern.
◦ Pattern is manually defined (via the Add Pattern command).
◦ Supported for all feature types that define a valid pattern.
