Pattern Types
Here is a list of potential patterns. Note that some of these potential patterns are not supported in GD&T Advisor.

All patterns share the same icon () and have the same default name (Pattern #). The pattern class listed in the table is for reference only. All patterns have the following additional restrictions:
Each member must be a Feature of Size of the same type, with the same characteristics and with identical size dimensions.
External references, if any (e.g., reference feature) must be the same for all members.
Pattern Conditions
GD&T Advisor supports two conditions for patterns:
Linked Pattern:
A pattern of features that is associated with a pattern of CAD features in the CAD model.
All members of a CAD pattern are automatically added to a linked pattern.
Pattern maintains an association with a CAD pattern.
Updates automatically if you change the CAD pattern (e.g., change the number of instances).
Individual members may not be added or deleted, except by modifying the associated CAD pattern.
Indicated by a superimposed on the pattern icon (e.g., ).
Supported for the following feature types:
Simple Hole
Blind Hole
Drilled Hole
Multi-Element Hole
Shaft
Drafted features (e.g., tapered hole or tapered shaft)
Unlinked Pattern:
A pattern of features that is not associated with a CAD pattern.
Pattern is manually defined (via the Add Pattern command).
Supported for all feature types that define a valid pattern.
