About Running a Localized Application on an English System
If you are running a localized (non-English) application on an English system, you must do the following tasks to work in a language other than English:
Install the language groups:
Language packs
Language-specific fonts
Encoding support and input methods
Set the LANG or PRO_LANG variable
Installing Language Support
The process for installing language support varies. Some computers may have the necessary language support. If this is the case, you need only set the appropriate language variable to run the application.
For information on fonts, see the Creo Installation and Administration Guide. You can also access this guide from your application by clicking File > Help > Reference > Installation and Administration Guide.
After you install support for a given non-English language on an English system, you can do the following operations:
Display language-specific characters in your application files.
Input and edit text containing language-specific characters in your application files. Some limitations apply.
Display the localized user interface for your application.
Print language-specific characters.
Printing and Plotting Files
No external software is required when printing text to a plotter. Within the application, text is typically broken down into strokes and polygons and then plotted. When outputting to CGM and PDF, true type fonts are required.
