Proposing Incremental Changes from Creo Parametric
When the design changes originate in Creo Parametric, the MCAD to ECAD collaboration scenario is as follows:
Generate two iterations of an ECAD assembly design as *.eda files in a single or different sessions of Creo Parametric. Generate the *.eda files in Creo ECAD-MCAD Collaboration or outside the collaboration mode with the Creo ParametricFile > Save As > Save a copy command.
Compare the two *.eda files with the Compare option in Creo ECAD-MCAD Collaboration. The comparison identifies the parametric variations in the two iterations of the ECAD assembly.
The comparison automatically generates an IDX file with the design changes in the two iterations of the ECAD assembly design. Creo View ECAD Validate displays the comparison results.
Analyze the design changes in Creo View ECAD Validate. These variations in design data are only the proposed changes.
Accept or reject specific design changes that you have verified in Creo View ECAD Validate.
Update the assembly database and the IDX file with the specific changes that you have accepted.
Transfer the IDX file with the design changes to the ECAD engineer.
As an ECAD engineer, you can view the contents of the IDX file created in Creo Parametric in standalone Creo View ECAD Validate. You can select the changed design objects and cross-select them in Creo Parametric. After verifying the changes with cross-select across Creo View ECAD and Creo Parametric, you can accept or reject changes, update the IDX file, and transfer the IDX file to the Creo Parametric user.
