About the Flat State in an ECAD Assembly
In an ECAD Assembly you can create a flat state of the board component and toggle the flat and bended state of the board in the assembly. When you flatten the board component in the ECAD assembly, there is no effect on the board part. You must place components in the ECAD assembly relative to the board so that they follow the flat state. In addition you can create a flat Family Table instance of the assembly to use in drawings. The flat instance is added to the drawing as a new model.
Without creating a flat state, you can preview the flat state of the board. Use the flat pattern preview command on the graphics toolbar to preview the flat state of the board in an accessory window.
