The BOM Balloons tab on the Table Properties dialog box is active only when you select a table that contains at least one repeat region.
Following group of commands are available on the BOM Balloons tab:
BOM Balloon Regions—This group lists the repeat regions to which you can apply the BOM balloons settings. This list contains names of all the repeat regions defined in the selected table. If there are more than one repeat regions in the selected table, by default, the value All Regions appears as the first name in the list followed by names of repeat regions defined in the table.
As you hover the mouse over the list of repeat regions, the corresponding repeat region appears highlighted with preselection highlight color in the table. Similarly, when you select a repeat region from the list, the corresponding repeat region appears highlighted with secondary selection color in the table.
Type—Options in this group allow you to control the type of balloon symbol and parameters to use for the BOM balloon. The current balloon type appears in the balloon type list. You can change the type to any of the standard balloon types or specify a custom balloon type.
The balloon type appears (As Is) if you have balloons of different type across multiple BOM balloon regions in the selected table. Similarly, custom symbol name appears as (As Is) if you have balloons that use different symbols across multiple BOM balloon regions in the selected table.
For custom balloons, you can select a symbol name available in the user-defined symbols area. If there are no symbols available in the user-defined symbols area, you can browse and choose the user-defined symbol from another location.
The BOM Balloon Parameter lists the current index parameter. You can specify a different parameter name or click Select/Change to set an alternative parameter from the BOM balloon region.
Reference Balloons—Options in this group allow you to change the value of the reference balloon text for an individual repeat region. The default value for the reference balloon text appears when the Default check box is selected. The Detail option reference_bom_balloon_text defines the default value of the reference balloon text. With the Default check box selected, you cannot change the value of the reference balloon text. Clear the Default check box to change the value of the reference balloon text.
