About the Design Exploration User Interface
When you open an existing Design Exploration session or start a new one, the Design Exploration commands and the Checkpoint Tree open. The name of the active checkpoint appears at the bottom left of the graphics window.
Commands
The following commands are available when no checkpoint is selected:
—Hides the Checkpoint Tree.
—Shows the Checkpoint Tree.
—Adds a new checkpoint.
—Backs up all models in session.
—Saves the Design Exploration session.
—Accepts the Design Exploration session to the Parametric session.
—Discards and closes the Design Exploration session.
Additional commands are available when a checkpoint is selected:
—Updates the selected checkpoint.
—Activates the selected, checkpoint.
—Deletes the selected checkpoint.
—Opens the View Changes dialog box.
—Opens the Checkpoint Properties dialog box.
—Opens the Design Exploration Report dialog box.
Checkpoint Tree
Search box—Searches the checkpoint tree. Start typing the name of a checkpoint or keyword.
—Displays the following commands:
Path Display—Sets the path display to one of the following options:
All paths—Displays the paths of all checkpoints.
Path of Active Checkpoint—Displays only the branch of the active checkpoint.
Checkpoints Display—Sets the display of the Checkpoint Tree to one of the following options:
Tree—Shows all branches in the Checkpoint Tree.
Timeline—Shows a list of all checkpoints according to the time they were created.
Automatically Created System Checkpoints—Sets the display of automatically created checkpoints.
Display all—Displays all automatically created checkpoints.
Display last created in each sequence—Displays only the last automatically created checkpoint in each branch.
Expand All—Expands all nodes in the Checkpoint Tree.
Collapse All—Collapses all nodes in the Checkpoint Tree.
Simple Search check box—Shows or hides the search button and box.
Back Up All Models check box—Sets backup of models in session to automatic or manual.
Columns—Adds or removes columns in the Checkpoint Tree. The following columns are available:
Name—Displays the name of the checkpoint.
Keywords—Displays the keywords assigned to the checkpoint.
Comment—Displays the comments written for the checkpoint.
ID—Displays the checkpoint’s ID.
Order of Creation—Displays the order in which the checkpoints were created.
Time of Creation—Displays the date and time of creation.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click a checkpoint in the Checkpoint Tree to access shortcut menu commands.
Activate—Activates the selected checkpoint.
Update—Updates the selected checkpoint.
Add New Checkpoint—Adds a new checkpoint in the Checkpoints Tree under the selected checkpoint.
Delete—Deletes the selected checkpoint.
View Changes—Opens the View Changes dialog box. The changes to the checkpoint are highlighted.
Open Report—Opens the Design Exploration Report dialog box.
Properties—Opens the Checkpoint Properties dialog box for the selected checkpoint.
Make Active Branch Main—Makes the branch of the active checkpoint the main branch in the Checkpoints Tree.
Rename—Allows editing of the checkpoint name.
