About Saving a Design Exploration Session
When you save a Design Exploration session, it is saved as a TMU file. You can open the session at a later date and continue exploring changes to the design.
You can upload TMU files as CAD objects to Windchill and manage the TMU files as primary objects in Windchill. A CAD document representing a TMU file maintains dependencies to all required CAD models referenced in the TMU file. To download the exact set of objects used in the last Design Exploration session, select the As Stored configuration and not the recently-stored Latest configuration. You cannot upload, check-in, or save the Design Exploration files to an external location.
Data in the TMU file is encrypted and compressed to prevent unintended and unwanted mix-up between the trial data from Design Exploration and the original designs. By default, to keep the file size small, only modified models and pointers to the original models are saved in this file.

Sessions saved prior to the Creo Parametric 3.0 M030 release were saved as TMZ files. These files can be opened in Creo Parametric, when you save the session again it is saved as a TMU file.
