To Compare Assembly by Feature and Generate a Comparison Report
1. Check in an assembly to a Windchill server with the Auto Associate Parts to CAD Documents check box selected on the Check In page. The assembly is checked in with WTParts for part and assembly components.
2. Add WTParts to the assembly Document. Delete and move existing WTParts of the assembly CAD Document on the server. The CAD structure for the assembly displays the added, deleted, and moved components and the iterations of the assembly CAD Document are automatically created.
3. Open one of the iterations of the assembly CAD Document from the server in the Creo application. The View Changes dialog box opens.
*
The server modifications are the intended changes that are not yet committed to the assembly. Therefore, the assembly in session does not show the server changes. However, the View Changes dialog box lists the modified WTParts as added, deleted, and moved components. It also lists the transformation matrices for the added and moved components.
4. Select the check boxes next to the added, deleted, and moved components in the View Changes dialog box to accept the server changes after you review the description of the server changes to the assembly structure.
5. Click Close in the View Changes dialog box.
6. Click Tools > Compare Assembly. The Creo browser displays the comparison report.
7. Compare the base version of the assembly CAD Document with its iterations. The Item Type column lists the changed parameters and components. The Change Type column lists the type of changes, whether Metadata, Geometry, Pending, and so on. You can check for the details of the change in the Description column.
8. Click Export Report to save the report as an external file. The Save a Copy dialog box opens and you can specify a name and path for the report file.
9. Click Printer Friendly Version to print the report.
