Data Exchange > Creo Legacy Migration > Matching Annotations > To Match a Legacy Annotation or Draft Entities with a Creo Parametric Annotation
To Match a Legacy Annotation or Draft Entities with a Creo Parametric Annotation
1. Open a legacy drawing and click the Legacy Migration tab.
2. Map > Create Model Views on the Legacy Migration tab to automatically create model views that map to the 2D views on the legacy drawing.
3. Click Map > Copy Annotations to automatically copy and recreate the legacy annotations as the associative annotations of the mapped model views.
4. Click Utilities/Settings > Validate Association to open the Validate LDA Associations dialog box and verify whether all the legacy annotations are mapped to the associative annotations.
5. Click Show unmapped with Entities, Dimensions, and Notes selected in the Validate LDA Associations dialog box to check for annotations that are not mapped. The As imported column of the validation table displays the unmapped dimensions and notes of each view by their ID.
6. Select an unmapped dimension or note in the As imported column of the Validate LDA Associations dialog box to cross-highlight, pan, and zoom the unmapped dimension or note on the drawing. You can thereafter click Refit on the Graphics toolbar or click View > Orientation > Refit to refit the legacy drawing to the graphics window.
7. Select the unmapped legacy dimension or note that you cross-highlighted and zoomed on the drawing. You can also select a set of draft entities with the dimension or notes selected for the match operation.
*
Match Annotation on the Annotations tab is available for selection only when you select the unmapped legacy annotations on the drawing. Do not click Match Annotation without mapping the drawing views to the model views and clicking Map > Copy Annotations to automatically map the legacy annotations to the associated dimensions of the mapped views.
8. Click Annotations > Match Annotation. The Select dialog box prompts you to select an item.
*
If you do not want to proceed with the task after you click Match Annotation, you can click the middle-mouse button to cancel the task.
9. Select a draft dimension or note that belongs to the same associated view as the unmapped legacy dimension or note selected for the match operation. You can create a draft dimension or note using commands on the Annotations tab of Legacy Migration.
The unmapped legacy dimension or note and the newly-created draft dimension or note are matched and associated. The newly-created draft dimension or note replaces the legacy dimension or note on the drawing. The legacy dimension or note is thereafter not visible on the drawing.
10. Click Show all in the Validate LDA Associations dialog box to verify whether the legacy dimension or note is matched. The As Mapped column of the validation table shows the ID of the draft dimension or note with which the legacy dimension or note is matched.
*
You can use the Annotations > Unmatch Annotation command to undo a match operation.
11. Selected one or more associated draft annotations that are matched to legacy annotations and click Annotations > Unmatch Annotation to remove the association of the legacy annotations with the associated draft annotations. The legacy dimensions and notes are now visible on the drawing along with the draft annotations that you created for the match operation.
