About Verifying the Mapping Status of Entities and Cleaning Up the Drawing
After you map views, annotations, notes, and the 2D dimensions on the drawings to 3D model views and the corresponding 3D entities in the models, you can click Utilities/Settings > Validate Association on the Legacy Migration tab to verify the status of the associations. The Validate LDA Associations dialog box dynamically updates the mapping status of the entities to display the accurate and up-to-date information each time you click Utilities/Settings > Validate Association to access this dialog box. You can also right-click on the Drawing Tree or the drawing and click Validate Association on the resultant menu to open the Validate LDA Associations dialog box. The Mapping summary section of the Validate LDA Associations dialog box lists the original number of views, notes, and dimensions and the number of mapped entities in separate columns. The detailed status section provides the details of the mappings of views and annotations. You can thus continuously compare the original data of the imported drawing with the current data of the associative drawing.
You can verify the mapping status of 2D entities of each view, set a filter to verify the mapping status of specific entity types, or verify the mapping status of all the 2D entities. You can then mark the entities that you verified to ensure that they are not lost when you later move them to the solid view. You can separately list the mapped and unmapped entities or only the mapped or the unmapped entities for each view, entity type, or all entities. You can also list entities not verified or list entities that are both not verified and not mapped. You can thus verify if all the 2D entities on all the views of the drawing are mapped in the Validate LDA Associations dialog box.
You can set the entities listed in the Validate LDA Associations dialog box to the same color as the entities on the drawing. You can then pick an entity in the Validate LDA Associations dialog box and cross-highlight, pan, and zoom all entities of the same color on the drawing. You can also pick an entity listed in any of the columns, except the Checked column, to cross-highlight, pan, and zoom the selected entity on the drawing.
You can save the mapping status from the Validate LDA Associations dialog box to a text file located in the Creo Parametric working directory. You can then move the dimensions, notes, and other 2D entities to a view of the drawing.
After you have automatically and interactively mapped the 2D views, dimensions, notes, and other 2D entities on the drawing and verified their mapping status in the Validate LDA Associations dialog box, you can click Utilities/Settings > Clean Up to clean up the drawing. LDA removes all the mapped entities from the drawing and places them according to entity types on hidden layers. These entities are no longer visible on the drawing.
