About Transferring the Meta Data of Rounds from Creo Elements/Direct Preserving Design Intent
You can replace the sharp edges in your model with curved or rounded features called blends in Creo Elements/Direct. When you import or open Creo Elements/Direct models in Creo, the meta data that is attached to the geometry of the round or blend features are transferred to Creo.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling supports the following types of round or blend features:
Constant radius blends or rounds—Blends with the same radius along the length of the edge.
Variable 2 radius blends or rounds—Blends with different start and end radii.
Variable n radius blends or rounds—Blends with different radii at various points of the edge, in addition to the different radii at the beginning and end of the sharp edge.
When you import or open Creo Elements/Direct models that include rounds or blends, the meta data of the different blend types is transferred to Creo without geometry changes. The round or blend types in the Creo Elements/Direct models are not imported as features to Creo, but their geometry and design intent are preserved during the import. The meta data of the round or blend types that is transferred from Creo Elements/Direct maps to the corresponding parameters in Creo.

Although the meta data of the round or blend types find their corresponding mapping in Creo, the meta data of the variable radius blends does not find the corresponding mapping in Creo. Therefore, the Creo algorithm does not recognize the blend type. You can then modify the geometry of the blend type in Creo Flexible Modeling or Creo Elements/Direct and convert the various radius blends to constant radius blends.
Modifying the geometry of the blend type using Creo Flexible Modeling or Creo Elements/Direct helps maintain the design intent that was transferred from Creo Elements/Direct to Creo. During the creation of a Creo Flexible Modeling feature on a surface that is adjacent to the blend, the surfaces of the blend type are highlighted in red. You can then use the Edit Round command in Creo Flexible Modeling to edit the geometry of the rounds and convert the round type to a round type that the Creo algorithm recognizes. When the geometry modifications are complete, the surfaces of the round type are highlighted in green color.

When you import a model with a constant radius blend that was created by the intersection of two cylinders in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, the meta data of the constant radius blend is transferred to Creo with a geometrically close but different value. This difference in value is based on the difference in the algorithms of blends with constant radii in Creo Elements/Direct and Creo.
