To Assemble a Creo View Part or Assembly into an Existing Assembly
1. Click Component > Assemble > Assemble with an assembly open. The Open dialog box opens.
2. Select Creo View (.ol, .ed, .edz, .pvs, .pvz) in the Type box. A list of the Creo View files appears in the current working directory.
3. Select the Creo View file you want to import.
4. Click Import. The Import New Model dialog box opens.
5. Retain the import profile in use or select an existing *.dip_creoview import profile in the Profile list. You can click Details to open the import profile editor, Creo View - Import Profile, and modify the import profile settings if required.
6. Click OK in the Import New Model dialog box. The Component Placement tab opens.
7. Add placement constraints to position the part or subassembly component.
8. Click on the Component Placement tab.
Creo View.ol files are assembled as new part components.
Creo View.ed and .pvs files provide the option to import as parts or subassemblies. By default, they create subassemblies.
Creo View.edz and .pvz files are uncompressed in a temporary folder to the respective .ed and .pvs formats. They are then assembled just as .ed and .pvs files.
