About Importing the Partial Views of Creo Elements/Direct Associative Drawings
The partial views that exist in the Creo Elements/Direct*.mi, *.bi, or *.bdl drawing files are imported to Creo Parametric as associative views when you select the Drawing associative with model option under Views in the Import MI dialog box.
Partial views are like detail views, but the owning view or the original full view is replaced by the partial view. Partial views are created at all levels of a model such as assemblies, subassemblies, or parts. Each node can have a different rotation and translation.
The various types of partial views transferred to Creo Parametric are as follows:
Full cross-sectional partial views as Creo Parametric partial views with full cross sections.
Partial views with border types such as rectangles, circles, polygons, or splines. Border details are transferred as splines to Creo Parametric.
Partial views with Calc Mode-shaded as images.
Shaded partial views with Calc Mode Classic + Shaded and Graphics + Shaded as Creo Parametric partial shaded views.
The following types of partial views are imported as 2D views that are not associative:
Partial views created on other partial views.
Sections views created referencing partial views.
Detail views created referencing partial views.
Partial views with rotation angle.
