About Collapsing Geometry into Imported Features
You can select an imported feature of a part as the target feature and then select the features to collapse into the target import feature that is the first selected feature on the Model Tree.
You may have created the target import feature with one of the following options set on the Import tab:
Add Bodies
Add Material
Add Surfaces
When the target import feature is created using Add Bodies, the target import feature and the solid geometry of the multiple bodies of the part contribute geometry to one of the bodies of the part. If the target import feature does not contribute geometry to the body whose solid geometry you selected, you must include all the solid geometry of the body for the collapse.
When the target import feature is created using Add Material, do not select features that contribute geometry to different bodies of the part model. The geometry selected for the collapse and the target import feature must contribute geometry to the same body in the part.
When the target import feature is created using Add Surfaces, solid geometry is not valid for the collapse. Only surfaces and datum features of the part are collapsed into the target import feature.
