About Customizing Import Validation Settings Before Importing or Opening Models
At the start of a Creo session, even before you begin importing or opening models in Creo, you can access the Import Validation Settings dialog box and customize the validation property settings. The customized validation properties are then automatically applied to in-session model operations such as import, open using Creo Unite, update using Associative Topology Bus (ATB), or regenerate. You can save the customized validation property settings to a file named config.val file in your working directory and use them when you import, open, update, or regenerate models in the subsequent sessions of Creo.
You can click Import Validation Settings in the 3D section of the 3D data exchange settings page in the Creo Parametric Options dialog box to open the Import Validation Settings dialog box and customize the values of the import validation properties. You can reset the severity of model and validation property errors as follows:
Edit the tolerance values of volume, surface area, and the Center of Gravity (COG) validation properties.
Change the severity of the import failure of each validation property.
Reset the severity of model errors.
Set a warning status for a validation property that is missing in a model because of its update or regeneration in Creo.
You can click Reset in the Import Validation Settings dialog box to discard your customization and revert to the system-defined values of the validation properties and the severity set by default for validation property and model failures. Click Load to open an existing config.val file with the customized import validation settings using the Open settings file dialog box.
