About Creating Features in the Current Part
You can select entities on the active drawing to create the following features in the current part:
Extruded features
Revolved features
Simple straight holes
Datum features, such as sketched curves and points
Datum planes that are offset from the default datum planes in the part model
Extruded and revolved features are of the types protrusion and cut. Protrusion features are created by default. If the extruded or the revolved feature is the first solid feature on the part, you can create only a protrusion, not a cut.
Feature creation on the active part involves the following steps:
Setting up the part as the active part
Selecting the feature and the feature type to be created
Selecting entities on the drawing to define the section profile
Selecting a line entity to define the sketching plane
Automatically validating the sketch at every step of the feature creation process
Fixing the section profile when validation fails, based on the errors processed
Defining depth options for extruded features or angle options for revolved features
Previewing the feature in 3D model space
