To Define Varied Material for Flexibility
Use this procedure to change the material to a material that is not already defined in the part, but is defined in the owner of the part. Use the Parameter varied items to change the material for a part when the desired material is already defined as an option for this part. When a material is defined in the parent component, you can assign it to a part using the Materials varied items.
1. Open an assembly.
2. Choose one of the following items:
◦ A flexible component—Select the component, right-click it in the Model Tree or graphics window, and choose 
from the shortcut menu. The Component Placement tab opens. Click > . The Varied Items dialog box opens.

The Varied Items dialog box opens.◦ A component without defined flexibility—Select the component, right-click it in the Model Tree or graphics window, and choose Make Flexible from the shortcut menu. 3. Click the Materials tab.
4. Click 
. The model name appears in Model Name column and the and the material assigned to the model appears in the Orig Material column.

6. Select a material from the list. The selected material is now assigned to the component.
7. Click OK to apply the changes.
