Support for Assemblies in Topology Optimization
You can define and run a topology optimization study on an assembly.
User Interface Location: In an assembly, click Applications > Topology Optimization.

What is the benefit of this enhancement?
In Creo 5.0.0.0, Creo Topology Optimization is limited to parts. In Creo 6.0.0.0 you can perform an optimization of a component in an assembly, that considers the loading conditions of that assembly. A description of defining and running a topology optimization in an assembly, follows:
Only a single component of the assembly is optimized, but the optimization leverages the loading conditions of the complete assembly
You can have the following Simulation entities in the optimization for an assembly:
Interface objects
Autodetect contacts
Solid weld objects
Autodetect solid welds
Simulation geometry review
Only top-level analyses and topology objects are available for the optimization
Only the optimized component is included in the geometry reconstruction process
