What is the benefit of this enhancement?
Model Tree column display:
The Model Tree is treated as a column in the left pane and managed as a nonremovable column. You can define the width of the Model Tree from the Model Tree Columns dialog box or by dragging the line that separates the columns. When you add columns, a button appears. Use this button to switch between showing and hiding the additional columns. Hiding columns shrinks the size of left pane and maximizes the graphics area.
Model Tree default filters:
The default settings for Model Tree filters is changed for part and assembly modes. Out-of-the-box, features, suppressed objects, and annotations appear in the Model Tree by default.
Model Tree setting customization:
Your changes to the settings in the Model Tree are automatically stored, by mode, in the creo_parametric_customization.ui file. Saved information includes the Model Tree display filter and Model Tree column settings, including column width. When you open a new Creo Parametric session these settings are loaded automatically
Model Tree setting changes in the user interface
Importing and exporting Model Tree settings includes import from and export to, user customization file types (*.ui)., The default file filter for import and export workflows is *.ui. The option to reset settings for the Model Tree is added to other areas in the user interface. The reset can be for the current mode or for all modes.

Does this replace existing functionality?
This replaces Model Tree configuration that uses the tree.cfg file.
You can continue to use the existing *.cfg tree configuration files and the configuration option mdl_tree_cfg_file for the following workflows:
Import Settings File and Export Settings File—Use these files to continue to save and load settings from a *.cfg file. You must first switch the file filter from the new default value to configuration files, in the respective dialog boxes.
Loading settings from a *.cfg file specified in the configuration option mdl_tree_cfg_file—If the configuration option mdl_tree_cfg_file specifies a tree settings file of the type *.cfg, those tree settings are loaded and applied unless a *.ui settings file is also available.
After a model type is loaded into session, the respective *.cfg–based tree settings are applied and at the same time, stored in the *.ui configuration file. After this occurs, settings for this model type are retrieved from the *.ui configuration file. Previously defined tree settings are migrated on the fly.
