Cyclone Separator with Particle Separation: Exercise 3—Assigning Boundary Conditions
For boundary conditions, the fluid behavior and properties are specified at all bounding surfaces of the fluid domain.
Specifying Inlet Boundary Conditions
1. Under Boundary Conditions, select Inlet.
2. In the Model tab, for Flow, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Flow — Specified Velocity
◦ Method — Boundary Normal
◦ Flow Direction — Inflow
◦ Normal Velocity Component — 2 m/s
3. In the Model tab, for Particle, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Release Particle — Yes
◦ Number of Particles — 20
◦ Radius of Particles — 3e-06 m
4. In the Model tab, for Particle 01, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Release Particle — Yes
◦ Number of Particles — 20
◦ Radius of Particles — 0.0005 m
Specifying Outlet Boundary Conditions
1. Under Boundary Conditions, select Outlet.
2. In the Model tab select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Flow — Specified Pressure Outlet
◦ Pressure — 0 Pa
Specifying Volume Conditions
1. To set the fluid, click
Materials. The
Material Selection dialog box opens. The fluid properties are set automatically when you select a new fluid.
2. For fluid domain CYCLONE_4_1_FLUID select air.
