About the Capture Dialog Box
You can save analysis results as an .mpeg or an .avi file, or as a series of .jpeg, .tiff or .bmp files. To do so, you must first play a result set from the Playbacks dialog box. Click Capture on the Animate dialog box to open the Capture dialog box. From Creo Parametric 6.0, you can include a background for your animation that appears with your mechanism in Render Studio.
To set a background scene follow the steps below:
1. On the View tab, click the arrow under Scenes and select a scene from the available options. To set a custom scene, click Edit Scene.
2. Set the Display Style to Shading With Reflections.
3. To view the background scene in the graphics window when you are not in Render Studio, click Perspective View.
The scene is add to your animation even when you do not display it in the graphics window. It displays automatically in the graphics window when you click Applications > Render Studio.
You can set the following options in the Capture dialog box.
Name—Accept the default name (the extension is determined by the Format you choose), or type another name. The file is saved in the current working directory. To change the default directory or overwrite an existing file, click Browse and select the directory or file.
Format—Accept the default .mpeg format if you want to save the animation as a single .mpeg file, or choose another format.

If you select another format, the animation is saved as a series of files named filename_x, where x is a consecutive number starting with 1. Select an option on the Preferences tab of the Analysis Definition dialog box to change the number of frames in your analysis.
Use external animation software to create an animation from the individual frames.
If you select avi as the format, you can set the compression rate.
Resolution—The default width and height values are the dimensions of the current graphics window. These values will not change if you resize the graphics window while the Capture dialog box is open.
Click the Render Frames check box to use photorendering while recording your animation. Click Settings to open the Render Settings dialog box.

* You must set a scene before capturing an animation. In Assembly mode, select Applications > Render to open the Render Studio tab. For more information, search for Render in the Help Center.
Frame rate—Set the frame rate at which to record an .mpeg or an .avi file.
Compression—If you have selected avi as the format, choose Select from list to open the Video Compression dialog box. Choose a video setting from the list and then configure the compression as required, or accept the default Uncompressed.

Compression settings cannot be undone once the video clip has been captured.
AVI capture can fail for a variety of reasons. Make sure that all compression settings have been correctly configured or consult the relevant video software.
Click OK to begin recording.
