Source
In the Flow Analysis Tree, under
Domains, select a domain to see the source in the Properties panel. If you select
Create a New Source. option under the
Turbulence module, you can introduce energy into the
Turbulent Kinetic Energy source,
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source Per Volume, or both into a selected
Volume.
If no source is created, the source heading is not visible. Multiple sources are numbered sequentially, such as Source 1, Source 2, Source 3, and so on. If you remove a source, the remaining sources are renumbered starting at 1.
Turb. Kinetic Energy Source Per Volume
You can introduce a turb. kinetic energy source per volume for a selected
Volume using
Turb. Kinetic Energy Source Per Volume. You can add mass as a source per volume (J/m
3)/s or a total source (J/s). You can specify a
Turb. Kinetic Energy Source Per Volume for an existing
Source in a selected
Volume under the
Turbulence module in the Properties panel. (If no source exists, create one using
Create a New Source)
A positive value of the
Source Per Volume (kg/m
3)/s or the Total Source(kg/s) adds
Turbulent Kinetic Energy to the
Volume. A negative value removes it.
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source
You can introduce a turbulent kinetic energy diss. rate source per volume for a selected
Volume using
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source Per Volume. You can add
Source as a
Source Per Volume (1/m-s
4), or a Total Source (m
2/s
4). You can specify a
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source Per Volume for an existing
Source in a selected
Volume under the
Turbulence module in the Properties panel. (If no source exists, create a source using
Create a New Source.)
A positive value of the
Source Per Volume (kg/m
3)/s or the Total Source (kg/s) adds
Turbulent Energy Dissipation Rate to the
Volume. A negative value reduces it.
Options
A
Source listing appears under the
Turbulence module in the Properties panel when you create a source using
Create a New Source. For the
Turbulence module, the possible sources for a selected
Volume are
Turb. Kinetic Energy Source Per Volume,
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source Per Volume, or both.
Total Source
You can introduce
Turbulence module sources (
Turb. Kinetic Energy Source Per Volume,
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source Per Volume, or both) for a selected
Volume as a
Total Source. You can specify a
Total Source for
Turbulence module sources for the
Turbulence module in the Properties panel.
You can add
Turbulence module sources as a
Total Source.
Source Per Volume
You can introduce
Turbulence module sources (
Turb. Kinetic Energy Source Per Volume,
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate Source Per Volume, or both) for a selected
Volume. You can specify a
Source Per Volume for
Turbulence module sources for the
Turbulence module in the Properties panel.
