About the Creo Flexible Modeling User Interface for Sheet Metal Parts
The Flexible Modeling tab consists of a tab with groups of commands and a gallery, and graphics window shortcut menus. In an open sheet metal part, click Flexible Modeling to open the tab.
Surface Selection Group
Use these commands to select surfaces and set rules for selecting geometry.
• Shapes—Opens the shapes gallery.
◦ Boss—Selects surfaces that form a boss.
◦ Bosses—Selects surfaces that form a boss along with additional bosses.
◦ Cut—Selects surfaces that form a cut.
◦ Cuts—Selects surfaces that for a cut along with additional cuts.
◦ Round/Chamfer—Selects a round or chamfer surface.
◦ Rounds/Chamfers—Selects connected round or chamfer surfaces of the same size, type, and convexity.
| When you move the mouse over a button, geometry in the graphics window highlights. This geometry is selected when you click the button. |
• Geometry Rules—Opens the
Geometry Rules dialog box.
• Geometry Search—Opens the
Geometry Search Tool dialog box. You can use this dialog box to search for sheet metal design objects.
Modify Group
Use the Modify commands to modify sheet metal features.
• Pull Wall—Opens the
Pull Wall tab.
• Edit Bend—Opens the
Edit Bend tab.
• Edit Bend Relief—Opens the
Edit Bend Relief tab.
• Edit Corner Relief—Opens the
Edit Corner Relief tab.
• Edit Corner Seam—Opens the
EDIT CORNER SEAM tab.
• Click Modify to display additional commands.
◦ Edit Round—Opens the
Edit Round tab.
◦ Edit Chamfer—Opens the
Edit Chamfer tab.
Transform Group
Use the Transform commands to modify geometry.

Move to display additional commands.
◦ Move using Dragger ◦ Move by Dimension ◦ Move using Constraints • Offset—Opens the
Offset Geometry tab.
• Substitute—Opens the
Substitute tab.
• Click Transform to display additional commands.
◦ Modify Analytic—Opens the
Modify Analytic Surface tab.
◦ Mirror—Opens the
Mirror Geometry tab.
◦ Flexible Pattern—Opens the
Pattern tab.
Recognition Group
Use the Recognition group to recognize patterns and symmetric geometry and sheet metal objects. You can propagate recognized patterns and symmetry to other Creo Flexible Modeling features.

Pattern Recognition tab.
• Symmetry—Opens the
Symmetry Recognition tab.
• Sheet Metal Objects—Displays the following commands:
◦ Recognize Bends—Opens the
Recognize Bends dialog box.
◦ Recognize Bend Reliefs—Opens the
Recognize Bend Reliefs dialog box.
◦ Recognize Corner Reliefs—Opens the
Recognize Corner Reliefs dialog box.
◦ Recognize Corner Seams—Opens the
Recognize Corner Seams dialog box.
◦ Recognize Forms—Opens the
Recognize Forms dialog box.
• Not Sheet Metal Objects—Displays the following commands:
◦ Not Bends—Opens the
Not Bends dialog box.
◦ Not Bend Reliefs—Opens the
Not Bend Reliefs dialog box.
◦ Not Corner Reliefs—Opens the
Not Corner Reliefs dialog box.
◦ Not Corner Seam—Opens the

• Click Recognition to display additional commands.
◦ Chamfers—Click an option to recognize and tag chamfer geometry:

▪ Not Chamfers—Opens the
Not Chamfers tab.
◦ Rounds—Click an option to recognize and tag round geometry:

Edit Features Group
• Remove—Opens the
Remove Surface tab.
• Click Edit Features to display the following commands:
