To Create a Sketched Datum Axis
When you create a geometry centerline in a sketch-based feature, the new line exists as a regular datum axis in the Standard application. Using a geometry centerline is the only way that a centerline created in Sketcher can convey feature-level information outside of Sketcher.
1. Click
Model >
Sketch. The
Sketch dialog box opens.
2. Select a sketching plane and set its orientation, or accept the default orientation.
3. Click Sketch. The Sketch tab opens.
4. Click
Sketch >
Centerline in the Datum group.
5. Click twice in the graphics window to place the centerline.
| • You can create multiple geometry centerlines in the same sketch. • Right-click a centerline in Sketcher to toggle between Construction and Geometry. |
6. Click
OK.
