To Create a Silhouette Curve
1. On the
Mold or
Cast tab, click
Silhouette Curve. The
Silhouette Curve tab opens.
2. Click the
Reference Model Collector and select one or more quilts of a reference model. If only one reference model exists in an assembly, the model is automatically selected. Alternatively, you can select the required surfaces or reference models on the
Reference tab.
| On the Reference tab, click Details to view the individual, excluded, and all solid surfaces existing in the model. You can select the required surfaces as references. |
3. Click the
Light Direction Collector and select a surface, curve, edge, axis, plane, or coordinate system to specify the light direction.
4. Specify any of the following options, if required:
◦ Slides: Specify volumes and parts to handle undercut zones in the reference part.
◦ Gap Closure: Close one or more gaps in the preliminary silhouette curve.
◦ Loop Selection: Include or exclude loops and chains to resolve ambiguities in the undercut and non-drafted zones.
5. On the Properties tab, type a name for the silhouette curve feature.
6. Click OK.
