To Replace Manufacturing Templates
You can replace a manufacturing template for a model with another manufacturing template in the reference model as well as during extraction in the manufacturing model. The two templates must be compatible.

* Compatible templates have the same number and type of references. If either the number or the type of references is different, the templates are not compatible.
You can replace manufacturing templates using any of the following techniques:
Using the Update Mfg AEs command in the design model. This technique replaces all the compatible manufacturing templates in the design model.
Individually editing the annotation features in the design model.
During extraction in the manufacturing model. In this technique, templates are not replaced in the design model.
To replace a manufacturing template in the design model:
1. Set the mfg_process_template_dir configuration option to the path to a directory in which the replacement template is stored.
2. Click Annotate > Annotation Features > Update Manufacturing AEs.
Creo NC searches the path specified by the mfg_process_template_dir configuration option, locates a replacement template that has the same name as the existing manufacturing template, validates the compatibility, and updates all the manufacturing annotation elements with the information from the replacement template. Creo NC also creates a log file named mfgtemplate.log in the working directory. This log file records whether the manufacturing template has been replaced or not.

* If the replacement template is not compatible, the existing manufacturing template is not replaced.
