To Insert a Workcell
To insert a workcell in a Process Table, you have to switch to a Resources view.
1. Click any of the following buttons to create a work center depending on the type ow work center you want to insert:
◦ —Milling Work Center
◦ —Mill-Turn Work Center
◦ —Lathe Work Center
A new workcell line is inserted below the last line in the Process Table.
2. To change the workcell name, type the new name in the Name column of the Process Table.
3. To change other workcell properties, select the workcell by clicking on its icon. The whole line in the table highlights.
4. Click
on the toolbar below the Process Table. The
Work Center dialog box opens.
5. In the Name box, type the name of the machine or use the default.
6. Select the Milling Axes:
◦ For Mill—3 Axis (default), 4 Axis, or 5 Axis
◦ For Lathe—1 Turret (default) or2 Turrets
◦ For Mill-Turn—3 Axis, 4 Axis, or 5 Axis (default)
7. Use options on the Output tabbed page to specify the following:
◦ How the FROM statement will be output to an operation CL data file.
◦ Control the output of the LOADTL statement in the operation CL data file:
◦ Control the output of the COOLNT/OFF and SPINDL /OFF statements.
◦ Cutter compensation.
8. On the Tools tabbed page, click Tools to open the Tool Manager and set up the Tool Table of the workcell.
If the machine type is a 2-Turret Lathe or a 4- or 5-Axes Mill/Turn, options to select the head on which the NC sequence is to be defined appear. Select Head 1 or Head 2. The Tools Setup dialog box opens, which enables you to create tools to be used for the selected Head.
9. Use options on the Parameters tabbed page to specify the spindle speed, rapid feed rate units, machine frequency, default values for manufacturing parameters, PPRINT options, and DMIS options.
10. Use options on the Travel tabbed page to specify the travel limits and the stroke for the machine tool along X-, Y-, and Z-axes.
11. Use the Cycles tabbed page to set up custom cycles for Holemaking.
12. On the
Assembly tabbed page, click
to specify the
Machine Assembly and also select the reference coordinate system. The assembly and coordinate system are used when displaying tool motions during machine simulation.
13. Use options on the Properties tabbed page to specify comments, if any, for the selected workcell.
14. Click
to save the changes.
