About Changing the Representation of the TIM Assemblies
The level of content detail of the assemblies is stored as the ATB information in the Translated Image Model (TIM) components. Therefore, after the initial import of the assemblies, you can change the level of detail of the TIM assemblies or vary the level of detail of the TIM components.
If you selected Structure as the Representation option in the Import New Model dialog box during the import of the assemblies to Creo Parametric, you can select the ATB commands of Read Graphics and Read Master to change the representation of the imported assemblies from data structures without display data to data structures with display data and their full representation in Creo Parametric. You can also directly use the Read Master command to change the product structure representation of the TIM assemblies without display data to their master representation. If you selected Graphic as the Representation option during the initial import of the assemblies, you can select the Read Master command to change the representation of the TIM assemblies to their master representation. A change in the representation at the assembly level is recursively applied to all components of a TIM assembly. However, you can vary the level of detail of the TIM components and have a selective mix of structure and graphic representations within a TIM assembly.

You can change the representation of the TIM assemblies and components from product structure to the graphic representation and the graphic representation to the master representation. You cannot change the master representation of the TIM assemblies and components to the graphic or their product structure representation.

The structure and graphic representations of assemblies do not allow you to create new geometry although you can assemble new components in the TIM assemblies. You must change the structure and graphic representations to the master assembly representation to create new geometry in the TIM assemblies.
