PID Controller Exercise 5— Assigning Boundary Conditions
Cold Fluid Inlet
1. Under Boundary Conditions, General Boundaries, select pipe_cold_inlet.
2. In the Model tab, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Flow—Specified Volumetric Flux
◦ Value—1 L/min
3. For Heat, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Heat—Specified Temperature
◦ Temperature—20 C
Hot Fluid Inlet
1. Under Boundary Conditions, General Boundaries, select pipe_hot_inlet.
2. In the Model tab, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Flow—Specified Volumetric Flux
◦ Value—controller.output L/min
◦ Output—User Select
▪ Volumetric Flow Rate—Yes
3. For Heat, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Heat—Specified Temperature
◦ Temperature—50 C
Pipe Outlet
1. Under Boundary Conditions, General Boundaries, select pipe_outlet.
2. In the Model tab, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Flow—Specified Pressure Outlet
Defining Fluid Properties
1. Click
Materials in the
Flow Analysis ribbon. The
Material Selection dialog box opens.
2. For fluid domain PIPE_Body_1, select Water. Click OK to close the Material Selection dialog box.
