External Flow with Leak Closure Exercise 2—Preparing the Mesh
An external bounding box is created, with a refined mesh zone surrounding the truck, to solve for external flow.
1. In the Flow Analysis Tree, select Domains.
2. In the Properties panel,
Mesh tab under
Creo Flow Analysis tree, select
Exterior Volumes for
Mesh Location.
3. Select Nonuniform for Bounding Box Margins drop-down list and enter the values as follows:
◦ Minimum Side Sizes — 0.3, 0, 1.5
◦ Maximum Side Sizes — 2.0, 1.2, 1.5
4. Enter 0.0005 for Minimum Cell Size.
5. Select Box Zone Refinement for Refine Zone Options and specify the following parameters:
◦ Cell Size — 0.005
◦ First Corner — -9.0, -1.0, -1.5
◦ Diagonal Corner – 11.0, 4.0, 1.5
6. Select Extended Mode for Setup Options and then, select Combined with Patches for Sub-feature Options.
7. Click
Generate Mesh to create the mesh around the truck.
8. In the
Post-processing group, click
Section View.
9. The Section 01 Properties appears. Set values for the options as listed below:
◦ Type—Plane Z
