Settings for Creo Simulation Live
Before running simulation studies, you can configure Creo Simulation Live to use some default global settings. Each setting is controlled by a corresponding configuration option. Perform the following steps to change settings:
1. Click File > Options to open the Creo Parametric Options dialog box.
2. From the left pane, click the arrow near the Applications area and then click Simulation to open the Set Simulation options page.
3. You can change any of the following settings or view and retain the default values. Each of these settings also has a corresponding configuration option that you can modify to change the default value:
a. Common Settings—Select the Automatically hide inactive probes check box to hide the probes that are not active at the time. The configuration option simulation_probes_auto_hide controls the default setting of this check box.
b. Live Simulation
Default Simulation Type—Select the default type of simulation study to create. The default value is Structural. Select one of the following options:
Structural
Thermal
Modal
The configuration option simlive_default_simulation controls the default value of this list.
c. Reference selection outside simulation scope—Define what happens when simulation entities are created on references that are not within the scope of a study. The default value is Prompt. Select one of the following options:
Prompt*—Asks for confirmation if there are simulation entities on references in the model that are not included in the scope of the study.
Yes—Allows you to define simulation entities on references that are outside the scope of the study.
No—Does not allow definition of simulation entities on references that are outside the scope of the study.
The configuration option simlive_reference_scope controls the default value of this list.
d. Autodetect Contacts in inactive studies—The default value is Always. Select one of the following options:
Always—Contacts are automatically created for the current active study as well as other inactive studies.
On study activation—Contacts are created only when you activate a study.
The configuration option simlive_contact_detect_inactive controls the default value of this list.
e. Automatically create contacts while creating a new study—The default value is yes. Select one of the following options:
yes—Contacts are automatically detected and created when you create a study.
no—Contacts are not created when you create a new study.
The configuration option simlive_contact_detect_on_study controls the default value of this list.
4. Click OK. You are prompted to save the changes to the config.pro file. If you do not save the changes to the config.pro file then they are valid only for the session, and revert to the previous or default values when you close the session.
