To Create an Elliptical Fillet
You can create an elliptical fillet with or without construction lines. To create the fillet, you can select 2 coinciding edges, or a vertex defined as the coincident endpoints of 2 edges that can be trimmed.
1. Click Sketch and then click the arrow next to Fillet.
Click Elliptical to create an elliptical fillet with trimmed lines and construction lines that extend to the intersection point.
Click Elliptical Trim to create an elliptical fillet with trimmed lines, without construction lines.
2. Follow one of the procedures below.
Creating an Elliptical Fillet by Selecting Entities
1. Select the first line to be connected. Make sure to select the point at which you want to place the fillet.
2. Select the second line to be connected at the approximate point at which you want to place the fillet. The fillet is created between the points you selected and the lines are trimmed.
3. To create an additional fillet with the same dimensions, you can select a vertex.
Creating an Elliptical Fillet by Selecting Vertices
1. Select one or more vertices, the coincident endpoints of 2 edges that can be trimmed. The fillet is created at the point you selected and the lines are trimmed.
You can use box selection to select multiple vertices.
2. Select a second vertex to create another fillet with the same radius.
3. To create another fillet with a different radius, select two coinciding edges. A new fillet created by selecting a vertex while the tool is still active will follow the new radius value defined by the selection of two coinciding edges.
